The very first week of the FAM Club!  

Our first week we will be concentrating on the essential skill of Linework, starting with revising the most popular and well-known strokes.  Working on boards and arms, we will be perfecting the formation of TTT – thin-thick-thin lines, swirls, teardrops.  Following this, you will learn how to expand your skills to include other more flamboyant flourishes.  We will look at the range of brushes that can be used for various lines and draw attention to the consistency of the paint, correct loading of the brush and the angle and position at which we hold it.

We are so privileged to have Mark Reid instructing this week.  World renowned and highly respected for his teaching skills, his linework is probably the best in the business, particularly his tigers and butterfly shapes, not to mention his outstanding body painting.

Generally our Guest Instructor would be attending on Week 3, but Mark was unavailable on that date -  however I am thrilled to have managed to get him along on Week 2 instead! 

This week I put into practice some of the linework taught in week 1 on to a real model.  I show a few designs incorporating the various strokes you will have seen me demonstrating, and give you ideas of where to include them in your own designs.
